Mark Anderson (CEO, Strategic News Service) talked about U.S. and Western-nation competitiveness with Japan, South Korea, and China. He said that the free-trade and “inventing” economies of the U.S., the United Kingdom, and continental Europe were losing a war with the mercantile systems of the Pacific Rim. He advised Western nations to become inventors again and give preferential treatment to countries that protect intellectual property.
